خَوَالِقُ [a pl. of which the sing. is not mentioned] Smooth mountains: so in the saying of Lebeed, وَ الأَرْضُ تَحْتَهُمْ مِهَادًا رَاسِيًا ثَبَتَتْ خَوَالِقُهَا بِصُمِّ الجَنْدَلَ [And the earth beneath them a firm expanse; its smooth mountains being rendered fast by hard and solid stones]. (K, TA. [In the CK, بضَمِّ is erroneously put for بِصُمِّ.])
