سَافِعٌ [act. part. n. of سَفَعَ,] A man laying hold upon, or seizing, the نَاصِيَة [or forelock] of his horse [to mount him].

def.2 سَوَافِعُ [pl. of سَافِعَةٌ,] Burning blasts of the [wind called] سَمُوم.
