Full Definition

سَنَدI , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun سُنُودٌ; and سَنِدَ, Present.T ـَ; and , [which is the most common,] and , and ; signify the same; i. e. He leaned, rested, or stayed himself, against it, or upon it; syn. اِعْتَمَدَ; [or اعتمد عَلَيْهِ;] namely, a thing, or a wall, &c.
2 سَنَدَفِى الجَبَلِ, Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun سُنُودٌ, He ascended the mountain; as also . And [hence,] إِلَى فُلَانٍ I ascended to such a one.
3 And سَنَدَ فِى الخَمْسِينَ, or لِلْخَمْسِينَ, He approached, or drew near to, [the age of] fifty: [likewise] from سَنَدَ فِى الجَبَلِ.
4 سَنَدَ ذَنَبُ النَّاقَةِ, or , The tail of the she-camel tossed about, and lashed her croup, or rump, on the right and left.
