شَعْشَعَهُ
R. Q. 1 Verbal.Noun شَعْشَعَةٌ, He mixed it, namely, wine, with water. And He mixed one part of it, namely, a thing, with another part, like as one mixes wine with water. And شَعْشَعَ الثَّرِيدَةَ He mixed the ثريدة [or mess of crumbled bread] with olive-oil: or he put much clarified butter to it, and much grease, or gravy: or he raised its head; as some say: or he made its head high; as some say; from شَعْشَاعٌ as an epithet applied to a man, meaning “ tall. ” But the verb is used more in relation to wine than to ثريد.
