شَفِيعٌ
i. q.
صَاحِبُ شَفَاعَةٍ; i. e. An intercessor; as also
شَافِعٌ : pl. of the former شُفَعَآءُ. [See السُّقَفَآء, in art. سقف.]
2 Also i. q. صَاحِبُ شُفْعَةٍ; [meaning A possessor of the right termed شُفْعَة; or] one who demands, and is granted, as a neighbour [or a partner], in preference to him whose connexion is more remote, the right of purchasing a house [or piece of land] that is to be sold.
