صَدَاقٌ and صِدَاقٌ , the former of which is the most common of the dial. vars. here mentioned, [but] the latter is [said to be] more chaste than the former, and صَدُقَةٌ , of the dial. of El-Hijáz, and صُدْقَةٌ , of the dial. of Temeem, and صَدْقَةٌ and صُدُقَةٌ and صَدَقَةٌ , The مَهْر of a woman; [i. e. a dowry; nuptial gift; or gift that is given to, or for, a bride:] the pl. of صداق is صُدُقٌ, a pl. of mult., or صُدْقٌ, or both, and أَصْدِقَةٌ, a pl. of pauc., or this is accordant to analogy, but has not been heard; the pl. of صَدُقَةٌ is صَدُقَاتٌ; the pl. of صُدْقَةٌ is صُدْقَاتٌ and صُدَقَاتٌ and صُدُقَاتٌ, which last is the worst; and the pl. of صَدْقَةٌ is صُدَقٌ, or صَدْقَاتٌ [by rule صَدَقَاتٌ].
