ظَلِيفٌ

Root: ظلف

Full Definition

ظَلِيفٌ A rough, or rugged, place, in which is much sand. (M, TA. [See also ظَلْفٌ.])
2 And A man evil in condition in respect of his means of subsistence: and low, abject, or abased, and weak.
3 And An affair that is hard, or difficult: anything difficult to one to seek: and evil hard to be borne, or severe.

def.3 ذَهَبَ بِهِ ظَلِيفًا He went away with it, or took it away, without compensation, or without price: and so طَلِيفًا. (Yoo, TA in art. طلف.) And ذَهَبَ بِغُلَامِى ظَلِيفًا He went away with, or took away, my young man, or slave, without price.
