كِمَادٌ

Full Definition

كِمَادٌ The act of beating a garment, or a piece of cloth, by a fuller.
2 كِمَادٌ and كِمَادَةٌ A greasy, or dirty, or greasy and dirty, piece of rag, which is heated, and put upon a pained part, as a means of cure, for pain of the belly, or flatulence.
3 كِمَادٌ i. q. تَكْمِيدٌ; see 2; [The application of a كِمَادَة;] the taking a piece of rag, and heating it with fire, and putting it upon the place of a swelling. It is said in a trad., الكِمَادُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ مِنَ الكَىِّ [The application of a كِمَادَة is more pleasing to me than cauterization].
