لَاحَI , Present.T يَلُوحُ, Verbal.Noun لَوْحٌ, It shone; gleamed; glistened.
2 لَاحَ, (Present.T يَلُوحُ, Verbal.Noun لَوْحٌ and لُؤُوحٌ and لَوَحَانٌ; TA;) and ; It flashed slightly, not extending sideways in the adjacent tracts of cloud: or signifies it lighted up what surrounded it.
3 لَاحَ, Present.T يَلُوحُ; Verbal.Noun [لَوْحٌ and] لِيَاحٌ; It appeared: it appeared, as also , [it loomed,] and shone, gleamed, or glistened; as also : ISk says, لَاحَ سُهَيْل Canopus appeared; and it shone and glistened.
4 لاح, and , He came forth and became apparent.
5 لَاحَ لِى أَمْرُكَ, and تلوّح , Thine affair became apparent and manifest to me.
6 لَاحَ الشَّيْبُ فِى رَأْسِهِ Hoariness appeared upon his head.

8 لَاحَ إِلَى كَذَا, Present.T يَلُوحُ, He looked at, or towards, such a thing; as a distant fire.

2 لَاحَهُ, (Present.T يَلُوحُ, Verbal.Noun لَوْحٌ, TA,) It altered him, and made him lean, lank, light of flesh, slender, or lank in the belly; as also لوّحهُ , Verbal.Noun تَلْوِيحٌ: or the latter signifies it altered the colour of his skin: or both verbs signify it parched, scorched, or burned, and blackened, his skin. الشَّمْسُ The sun altered him, and scorched, i. e. slightly burned, and changed the colour of, his face; and in like manner fire, and the hot wind called سَمُوم; as also لَاحَتْهُ.
