مَثْلَبَةٌ and مَثْلُبَةٌ A fault, vice, or the like: or [properly] a cause of [blame or] reviling: pl. مَثَالِبُ. You say, مَا عَرَفْتُ فِى فُلَانٍ مَثْلَبَةً [I have not known in such a one a fault, or vice, or cause of blame, &c.].
