مِسْمَعٌ
An instrument of hearing.

def.2 A loop which is in the middle of the [large bucket called] غَرْب, and into which is put a rope in order that the bucket may be even; so called as being likened to an ear: or the part of the [leathern water-bag called] مَزَادَة
