مَعْقُودٌ
A cord, or rope, tied, knit, complicated into a knot or knots, or tied firmly, fast, or strongly. الخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِى نَوَاصِيهَا الخَيْرُ, a saying occurring in a trad., means Good fortune cleaves to the forelocks of horses as though it were tied to them.
2 Also A sale, or bargain, and a contract, a compact, or the like, concluded, settled, confirmed, or ratified.
3 لَيْسَ لَهُ مَعْقُودٌ means ليس له رَأْىٍ [i. e. He has not any settled, or determined, opinion or judgment].
4 بِنَآءٌ مَعْقُودٌ A building, or structure, [arched, or vaulted, or] having arches, like those of [many] doorways; as also .
5 مَعْقُودَةُ القَرَا: see عَقْدٌ.
