Full Definition

مِقْلَدٌ A kind of key, like a reaping-hook, with which, sometimes, herbage is twisted, (يُقْلَدُ, i. e., يُفْتَلُ,) like as [the kind of trefoil, or clover, called] قَتّ is twisted when it is made into ropes; pl. مَقَالِيدُ: a stick with a crooked head, which is used for that purpose: also, a reaping-hook with which قَتّ is cut. See also إِقْلِيدٌ.
