Full Definition

اعتكرVIII : see 1, in two places.
2 Also It became confused; as though one part thereof turned back upon another, from the slowness of its clearing away: it became intense in its blackness, and confused; as also : or it became dense in its darkness, and confused.
3 اعتكروا They became confused; as also : they became confused, or mixed together, in war, or fight; as also : they became embroiled together in contention; as also . [Hence,] اِعْتِكَارُ الضَّرَائِرِ [lit., The wrangling of fellow-wives; meaning,] confusion of discordant affairs.
4 اعتكر العَسْكَرُ One part of the army returned upon another, so that it could not be numbered.
5 اعتكر المَطَرُ The rain became vehement: or copious and vehement.
6 اعتكرت الرِّيَاحُ, or الرِّيحُ, The winds, or wind, brought dust, and removed the fruit of the trees.
7 اعتكر الشَّبَابُ Youthfulness continued until its term was ended.
