تطلّعV It became full [to the top, or so as to overflow]; said of a measure for corn or the like.

3 And He was proud, or self-conceited, [or lofty,] or was quick, with an affected inclining of his body from side to side, (زَافَ,) in his gait: or so تطلّع فِى مِشْيَتِهِ: app. syn. with تَتَلَّعَ, meaning he advanced his neck, and raised his head.
4 And He raised his eyes, looking [for a thing, or towards a thing]. You say, تطلّع إِلَى وُرُودِهِ He raised his eyes, looking for its, or his arrival. And تَطَلَّعْتُ إِلَى وُرُودِ كِتَابِكَ I raised my eyes, looking, or I looked continually, for the arrival of thy letter: or i. q. اِنْتَظَرْتُ [agreeably with what here follows, and with an explanation of the Verbal.Noun in the KL]. And تطلّع إِلَى لِقَائِهِ He looked for the meeting him. And [hence] one says, عَافَى ٱللّٰهُ رَجُلًا لَمْ يَتَطَلَّعْ فِى فَمِكَ, meaning [May God preserve from disease, or harm, a man] who has not sought to find some slip, or fault, in thy speech: mentioned by AZ, and by Z. [Hence likewise,] التَّطَلُّعُ signifies also الإِشْرَافُ [as meaning The being eager, or vehemently eager, agreeably with what here follows]. And التَّطَلُّعُ إِلَى الشَّىْءِ The inclining of the soul to the love of the thing, and the desiring it so that the man perishes. And تَطَلُّعُ النَّفْسِ The desiring, or yearning, or longing, of the soul. [See an ex. in a verse cited in the first paragraph of art. صبر.]
