2 تغرّب and اغترب are syn., signifying He became [a stranger, a foreigner; or] far, or distant, from his home, or native country; [he went abroad, to a foreign place or country;] and so , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun غَرَابَةٌ, or غُرْبَةٌ [and app. غُرْبٌ, this last and غُرْبَةٌ being syn. with تَغَرُّبٌ and اِغْتِرَابٌ, and being like قُرْبَةٌ and قُرْبٌ inf. ns. of قَرُبَ]; and بِنَفْسِهِ, Verbal.Noun تَغْرِيبٌ; and , or this last signifies he entered upon الغُرْبَة [the state, or condition, of a stranger, &c.].
3 And تغرّب signifies also He came from the direction of the west.
