سَامِعٌ
and
سَمِيعٌ are syn.; [signifying Hearing; and hearkening, or listening;] like عَالِمٌ and عَلِيمٌ, and قَادِرٌ and قَدِيرٌ. [
, applied to God, signifies He whose hearing comprehends everything; who hears everything. And [hence, also,] ↓ this same epithet is applied to The lion that hears the faint sound of man and of the prey from afar. You say also, أُذُنٌ سَامِعَةٌ, and
