Full Definition

ٱسْكَاتٌ The temperate days in the latter, or last, part of the صَيْف [app. here meaning summer].
2 Remains of anything: as though pl. of سُكْتَةٌ, before mentioned.
3 Also, or أَسْكَاتٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ, Sundry, or scattered, parties, or classes, of people: or i. q. أَوْبَاشٌ [i. e. a medley, or mixed multitude; or the lowest or basest or meanest sort, or refuse, or riffraff]: IAar does not assign to it a sing.: some say that its sing. is سكت [app. سَكْتٌ]; but this demands consideration.
