Full Definition

اعصرIV He entered upon the time called العَصْر: and also he entered upon the evening, or last part of the day; like اقصر.
2 And اعصرت, and عصّرت , so in all the copies of the K, but in a copy of the Tahdheeb of IKtt , without tesh-deed, She attained the عَصْر of her youth, or [simply] attained the period of her youth, and arrived at the age of puberty: or entered upon the time of puberty, and began to have the menstrual discharge; because of her womb's being pressed; or as though she entered upon the عَصْر of her youth: or she attained the age of puberty: or she had the menstrual discharge: or she entered upon the time of that discharge: or she approached that time; for, said of a girl, it is like رَاهَقَ said of a boy; accord. to Abu-lGhowth el-Aarábee: or she approached the age of twenty: or she became confined in the house, and had a retreat (عَصَرٌ) appointed for her, at the time of her having the menstrual discharge: or she brought forth; in which sense it is of the dial. of Azd. The woman, or girl, is termed مُعْصِرٌ and , with ة: pl. مَعاصِرٌ and مَعَاصِيرُ.

def.2 أَعْصَرَتِ السَّحَائِبُ The clouds were at the point of having rain pressed forth from them by the winds. (O, and Bd in lxxviii. 14. [But see مُعْصِرٌ.])
