عَيَآءٌ
An incurable disease; a difficult disease, for which there is no cure; as though it disabled, or baffled, (أَعْيَا,) the physicians. [Hence,] one says, الدَّآءُ العَيَآءُ الحُمْقُ [The disease for which there is no cure is stupidity].
