شُوَيْلَآءُ A certain plant, mentioned, but not described, by As; of the kind termed عُشْب, growing in plain, or soft, land, used as a medicament, and well known: [Sgh says,] I have seen it: it is dust-coloured, spreads upon the ground, has no thorns, and the cattle eagerly desire it: it is called sometimes, by some of the people of El-'Irák, شُوَّيْلٌ , like فُبَّيْطٌ [in measure].
